The results of studying interactions between parents’ personality traits and main parameters of parent-child relationship are presented. 309 fathers and 309 mothers who had two children took part in the study. Differences between maternal and paternal relations to children are shown in the study. Mothers control their children more strictly and evaluate their children trust level higher than fathers. The connection between parameters of parents’ relations to children and parents’ personality and cognitive characteristics is found out. Parents with high internality and low neuroticism levels demonstrate more positive and harmonious relations to their children. Mothers with high intelligence tend to control their children less strictly.
