The study presents validation of the Russian version of the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire – Preschool Revision [APQ-PR] for parent report in a sample of 359 children aged between 2 and 7 years. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the three-factor structure, the scales demonstrated satisfactory internal consistency. Correlations with lower- and higher order personality traits measured by parent reported Inventory of Child Individual Differences-Short version (ICID-S) and mental health problems measured by the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) supported validity of the Russian version of the APQ-PR. Аge differences supported the discriminative validity of the APQ-PR scales. Russian version of the APQ-PR has been shown to be a reliable and valid measure and is recommended for studying parenting practices in families of preschool age Russian children.
