Coping as social-cultural problem

Abstract

The history of coping strategies studies is presented in contemporary social-cultural background which distinctive feature is high dynamism of social processes. It is emphasize approaches to coping, which differ on their theoretical and empirical bases have 'the general vector' – coping is the dynamic process determined not only by characteristics of the situation or personal features, but their interaction. It is stated that the given interaction leads to complex cognitive estimation including both interpretation by the subject of a situation, and its representation about itself in it. Personal and social resources are considered from this point of view.
