The current paper introduces the results of an empirical study focused on the relationships between eating disorders of preschool children and maternal emotional attitude. Specifically, two major models for eating disorders are studied: emotional overeating and emotional malnutrition. Results of the study show the association between the negative features of maternal emotional attitude and both development of emotional overeating and food addiction. In turn, maternal emotional attitude was not shown to relate to emotional malnutrition and food selectivity.
