The need for a more detailed understanding of the status of social psychology as a science in the context of contemporary social changes and a new paradigm in the discipline is discussed. In particular, the problem of verifying interdisciplinary nature of social psychology and its existence in the new social context – in relation to culture – is raised. Additionally, the question of a new practical role of social psychology is considered in line with requirements of social constructionism.
