Intuition, intelligence, and personality traits (the results of trying and testing Rational Versus Experiential Inventory by S.Epstein et al.)

Abstract

The results of trying and testing (total of 852 subjects) of Russian version of 'Faith in Intuition' subscale (i.e., intuitive ability and use of intuition) of Rational Versus Experiential Inventory by S. Epstein are presented. Confirmatory factor analysis is used to test a single- and a two-factor model of the inventory. It is shown that the inventory has a two-factor structure with additional third factor of negatively-worded items. Additionally, relationships between intuition subscales scores and emotional intelligence (in case of no relationships with analytical abilities) as well as personality traits involved in the regulation of choice under uncertainty are demonstrated.
