The complexity and inhomogeneity of self-monitoring phenomenon. Part 2

Abstract

In spite of various data about the phenomenon of self-monitoring the conclusions concerning its homogeneity are rather controversial. The aim of our research was to examine qualitative and quantitative changes in self-monitoring while its level grows, to reveal whether it is necessary to consider few discrete classes of self-monitoring, and to determine the inner reasons of this inhomogeneity and discontinuity of the phenomenon. The changes in self-monitoring correlation relationship structure were investigated. The results of quantitative and qualitative analysis of self-monitoring and other psychological characteristics relationships (MANOVA and specific cases analysis) are presented in the part 2 of the paper.
