Abstract

The current paper presents the results of a pilot study on the relationship between the individual features of temperament structure, the problematic use of the Internet and subjective well-being in older adolescents. The study sample included 90 individuals aged 15–25 (M = 18.27, SD = 2.93). Results of the study demonstrated that certain features of temperament traits contribute to the formation of problematic use of the Internet and subjective well-being. The results obtained are consistent with the current interdisciplinary data on the biopsychosocial model of integral personality. The correlations between individual temperament traits, the problematic use of the Internet and the subjective well-being can be applied for the development of the recommendations for “healthy” use of Internet. Also, our study results can be applied in targeting the problem of decreasing levels of physical activity among “digital” adolescents.
