Abstract

The article presents the development and validation of a new questionnaire designed to measure jealousy. The proposed instrument includes 39 items (both direct and reverse) reflecting the key manifestations of jealousy. The psychometric properties of the scale were confirmed by high internal consistency indices (Cronbach’s α = 0.904; McDonald’s ω = 0.909). Divergent validity was demonstrated by the absence of significant correlations with measures assessing unrelated constructs, such as aggression, achievement motivation, and gender roles. The findings indicate that the developed questionnaire possesses robust psychometric characteristics and provides a reliable and valuable tool for the empirical study of jealousy.
