Coping with loneliness psychology

Abstract

The paper presents stress-coping research data concerning coping with loneliness experience. The author connects experienced subjective loneliness not only with personality traits, but also with real relationships having impact on coping strategies` choice. A special focus is made on social-psychological determinants of loneliness in close interpersonal relationships (marital, romantic). There are research results about romantic relationships among the young as coping with loneliness factor. The adaptation of the loneliness measure for the Russian-language sample of different age is described.
