Adaptation of the Adult Separation Anxiety Questionnaire ASA-27 to a Russian Study Population

Abstract

The paper presents the results of adapting the Adult Separation Anxiety Questionnaire to a Russian study population. The author provides the psychometric characteristics of the methodology and determines correlations between the degree of separation anxiety in respondents and their age and gender. The study was conducted in two stages with a 6-month interval between them. 291 participants took part in the study. Both groups of respondents included males and females ages 18 to 55 with at least a complete secondary education. The methodology was translated by the authors of this paper into Russian. Then the text was edited by an expert philologist and an inverse translation was performed for comparison with the original English version, which was then tested on a Russian data sample.
