The cognitive criteria of constructive perfectionism

Abstract

The results of empirical study of correlation between level of dysfunctional belief and level and types perfectionism’s are presented in the article. Students of medical academy (N = 162) took part in the study. The following techniques were used: Kholmogorova-Garanyan questionnaire of perfectionism, Beck depression scale, Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale (DAS). It was found that the general level of perfectionism and selected parameters of perfectionism directly correlated with the level of dysfunctional beliefs. Low level of dysfunctional beliefs appears to be a cognitive criterion of perfectionism of constructive type.
