It is noted that the problem of axiological aspects of human psychology and psychological science is increasingly forcing researchers to access knowledge gained within the framework of religious traditions. The methodological foundations of positive psychology are analyzed. The author expresses concerns that non-critical and therefore irresponsible assimilation of knowledge gained within religious traditions can lead to deplorable and spiritually dangerous results. The thesis about the need for initiation of methodological responsibility principle for using religious knowledge in psychology is proposed. This principle involves an adequate conversion of concepts and provisions set forth within religious knowledge into scientific psychological discourse.
