Abstract

Information technologies changed traditional representations of professional work, professionals and professionalism. Current situation in science demands the elaboration of generalized approach to provision of development of professionalism. In this paper development of professionalism is considered as a process of professional development of a man and his activity. The theoretical analysis is based on the following statements: 1) professionalism of a man is a system formation; 2) professional activity is considered as a special form of activity of a man and as a system of his attitudes to the world; 3) development of professionalism is a process of interiorization of normative model of a trade and development of individual conceptual model of professional activity; 4) professional development results from conflict resolution; 5) categories and concepts of engineering psychology may be extended to a wide range of trades. The psychological phenomenon of professionalism is analyzed as a system formation. The methodological basis of the generalized approach to development of professionalism includes a system principle together with anthropocentric, natural-scientific and cultural-historical paradigms that allow to combine humanitarian values, qualitative-quantitative models and algorithmic technologies. The proposed approach may be spread to a wide range of trades; it also allows to formulate the criteria of professionalism assessment and promotes the practical decision of professional training problems in new conditions.
