Psychological characteristics of interpersonal forgiveness

Forgiveness as an interpersonal communication phenomenon is viewed from an inter-subject perspective. Social and psychological features of forgiveness are analyzed using custom-designed questionnaire (total of 283 respondents). It was shown that interpersonal forgiveness as a value relation of the subjects involved in interaction had specific characteristics: level, partiality, selectivity. These characteristics vary depending on the respondents’ gender and age. Conditions under which forgiveness is looked for and given are determined.
