The article is devoted to the study of mental regulation of behavior in women with traumatic experience of induced abortion. The behavior control is considered as a regulatory function of the subject, psychological defense and coping mechanisms are considered as the most important adaptation processes under conditions of life difficulties. Women with traumatic abortion experience unlike not traumatized ones are shown to have uncoordinated system of behavior control and weak compensatory links in system of mental regulation as well as to use destructive ways of adaptation. Such regulation peculiarities do not allow women with traumatic experience to cope with life difficulties successfully.
