Abstract

The article discusses the problem of the use in A.R.Luria neuropsychology of some concepts of cultural-historical theory of mental development of L.S.Vygotsky, in particular, the concept of higher mental functions. The autor еxamines the complex relationships meaning of this concept with the deployment of neuropsychological studies on the role of the deep subcortical structures and of the right hemisphere of the brain in the implementation of mental activity. Special attention is paid to the possibilities and limitations of using the concept of higher mental functions in neuropsychology in childhood and in neuropsychology of individual differences.
