Factors of development of coping behavior in children and adolescents

The particular characteristics of psychological defense and strategies of coping behavior in both children of preschool and primary school age and in adolescents are described. Defensive behavior provoking situations are considered. The results of empirical study of coping behavior are analyzed with consideration for age, situation, mental development deficit and family context. Based on the analysis results a model of development of coping behavior in children and adolescents including the following determinants: affection quality (grade), interpersonal relations system, family context, children-parents relationship, and parents' coping behavior model is elaborated.
