The theoretical review of notion of resilience in psychology is presented. Different approaches to studying family resilience are analyzed individually. The analysis of ways in which families achieve resilience in different life situations (e.g. standard difficult life situations, stressful situation of “special” parenthood) is given. The study sample included 116 families with children. The model of family resilience evolution including coping with the situation and family functionality recovery was developed. Recovery factors involved in family reversion to its functional state in crisis situations are identified and described.
