Different models of emotional intelligence diagnostics are analyzed. The second version of The Mayer–Salovey–Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT V2.0) is considered in the context of operationalization of “emotional regulation” construct. The procedure of test adaptation for Russian-speaking population (638 subjects) performed under authorization of the copyright holder – Mental Health Corporation (MHC) – is described. Psychometric examination of Russian-language variant of MSCEIT V2.0 shows that this test method meets minimum requirements to research methods and may be used precisely for these purposes. Some revealed low psychometric data do not hinder using of this test but denote the necessity of further work on the test adaptation and standardization.
