Mentality model and Piaget’s theory

Abstract

In article is state the contemporary value of a great number Piaget’s theory theses, results of the latest researches sorted with his ideas are discussed. The meaning of continuity principle, succession of development stages, universality and presence of central tendency in cognitive development, egocentrism and animism of children’s and adult’s thinking are revealed. It is proved that critique of Piaget’s ideas quite often is superficial whereas his theory is creative source for further theoretic and empiric movement in psychology of development. Present day data allows conducting more deep analysis of its meaning and allotting new discussion moments.
