The data of comparative analysis of psychological defense mechanisms and events experience characteristics in clients of employment center as well as in students of 1–5 courses of higher education institutions (a total of 274 subjects) are presented. Significant differences in defense mechanisms and events experience characteristics in clients of employment center and students were found. Psychological defense mechanisms differently involve in events experience regulation in both crisis and stable situations. The sign of correlation between psychological defense mechanisms on the one hand and characteristics of events experience on the other hand reflects the trend of regulatory nature of each psychological defense mechanism. The summary of study results suggests a new approach to the problem of events experience.
