Scientometric indicators of scientific productivity and their reinforcement in Russian psychological community

Abstract

The existing practices of estimating the effectiveness and input of national science into international one are under analysis. The authors demonstrate inadequate character of these methods and the large influence of social psychological factors on appropriate indicators. It is demonstrated that reinforcement of scientometric indicators is enlarging in modern Russian science. The authors’ method which gives the way to revealing the manipulative strategies of raising Hirsh index is depicted. The data about the spread of these strategies in modern Russian psychological community, as well as about their spread in different types of scientific organizations are described.
