The experience of online aggression in young adults: current state and future development

Abstract

The problem of online aggression in young adults is examined based on a systematic survey of publications in western peer-reviewed journals. 15 articles published in foreign peer-reviewed journals from 2004 to 2011 and selected according to established criteria are analyzed. Incidence of online aggression, risk factors for victimization in worldwide web, psychological consequences of online aggression experience are described. Promising directions of psychological research of online aggression in young adults are outlined.
