Abstract

The Compound Remote Association (CRA) tasks are frequently utilized to study the phenomenon of insight. While most research has been conducted using English-language tasks characterized by solutions that form compound words, Russian-language tasks typically require different types of responses—stable phrases that integrate stimulus words. Solving such tasks necessitates reliance on various types of relationships between words, primarily syntactic and semantic. This article aims to analyze theoretical models that explain how individuals solve remote association tasks. It also examines the sources of difficulty in solving such tasks in the Russian language.
