Territorial identity and values as factors of structuring social space

The results of the study of territorial identity, interests and attitudes toward social and personal space in teenagers who were members of two Moscow youth organizations or were residents of the newly attached areas of Moscow (N=108) are presented. It is shown that the structure of social space is determined by territorial identity as well as professional and personal values and interests. At that, values, interests and emotional comfort structure real social space. Ideal social space is determined mainly by ideas and plans for the future. Furthermore, it is found that the attitude to a stable place of residence is related primarily to professional interests and values while the attitude to changes of a place of residence is related primarily to comfort and material values.
