The possible causal relations between personal characteristics and preferred coping strategies are discussed. Tolerance/ intolerance to ambiguity/uncertainty are regarded as central characteristics, which considered respectively as predictor and mediator which runs or mediates mechanism of coping strategies’ choice. The results of such analysis are described, mediator models pointing to the presence of important determinant’s links and complex systems of predictors and mediators in selection of coping strategies are suggested.
