Abstract

Features and functions of professional self-concept are analyzed, the scope of this notion is outlined. The professional self-concept structure distinguishing cognitive, emotional and behavior components is described. Cognitive components of professional self-concept are discussed in details in the first part of the paper. In the second part of the paper emotional components of professional self-concept are analyzed and the notion of professional self-concept is referred to the close notions in self-consciousness studies such as professional identity. The author’s definition of professional self-concept is given, complex approach to analysis of professional self-concept role in professional self-consciousness development is proposed.
