Changes in twin birth rate in Russia between 1959 and 2008

Changes in twin birth rate in Russia over a period of 1959–2008 is analyzed. The population of the world as a whole and of Russia in particular is considered as a self-organizing demographic system which dynamic changes are non-linear ones. It is shown that global tendencies are superimposed upon local Russian processes that determine birth rate dynamics in particular country being a part of global population system.
