The category of uncertainty is considered as one of fundamental categories of methodological search within the frame of social psychology of personality. It is shown that appeal to it is due to an increased attention of modern social psychology to the problems of social changes that are subjectively experienced by an individual as a stream of uncertain situations. Possible signs of uncertain situations are classified; their consequences at the levels of behavior, feelings and cognitions of an individual are identified.
