Abstract

Causes of current interest to concepts containing social forecasts are identified. It is stated that the influence of scientific work of V.I.Vernadsky on socio-humanitarian sciences is due to its value content. Contradictions of Vernadsky’s 'noosphere project' and Vernadsky’s ideas about future 'autotrophy of humanity' that is based on rational collective use of the limited resources of the planet and at the individual level leads to development of 'collective identity' are analyzed. It is argued that current value of Vernadsky’s views on individual/social ratio in a human consist in the idea of sustainability as a whole.
