Publication Guidelines
Dear Authors!
Submitted manuscripts must comply with the VAC requirements for scientific periodical publications and publications therein (resolutions of 14.10.2008 and 25.07.2014).
Our journal accepts for publication original articles not previously published in other journals. Submission of a manuscript automatically implies the author's consent to its publication and agreement with the publication guidelines of the journal "Psychological Studies". No cover documents are required when submitting an article for consideration.
Expert evaluation of manuscripts submitted to the editorial board, their compliance with the journal's scope and standards, is conducted through double-blind peer review. Manuscripts of no more than 1.5 printer's sheets (60,000 characters including spaces, including tables, the reference list, and all other components of the article.) are considered.
The author of a manuscript guarantees that they do not violate copyright laws or other legislative norms, and assumes responsibility for the accuracy and correctness of the information contained in the article.
All reviewers are recognized experts in the subject matter of the manuscripts they review and have published on the relevant topic within the last 3 years.
In disputed cases, the manuscript is sent for additional peer review. The editorial board sends authors the reviews of submitted materials in electronic form. Review texts are kept in the editorial office for five years.
The editorial board reserves the right to abridge and edit manuscripts without affecting the main content of the article.
Manuscripts are approved for publication if they are (1) approved by reviewers and (2) prepared by authors in full compliance with the journal's requirements (requiring no subsequent copy-editing, correctly formatted).
In the event of rejection by reviewers, a reasoned refusal of publication is sent to the author. Non-compliance with publication guidelines may serve as grounds for rejection without review.
Manuscripts rejected following peer review are not considered again. Other articles by the authors of such manuscripts are accepted for consideration in the normal manner.
Absolute grounds for rejection with the conclusion "Do not accept articles by this author for future consideration" and inclusion of authors in the journal's Stop List are: (1) violation of citation norms, or plagiarism; (2) submission of a manuscript previously published in another outlet. Information about violations of citation norms in the form of an editorial comment is made public on the journal's website for general notice.
Information about published articles is regularly submitted in the established format to the system of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and other scientometric and reference-bibliographic databases, both Russian and international.
Upon receipt of a request from the editorial board for copies of reviews to be forwarded to the Expert Council of the VAC of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the relevant information is forwarded to the ministry.
There is no charge for publication of manuscripts of any category of authors. Free-of-charge publication is a fundamental editorial policy.
Manuscripts are accepted for consideration on a continuous basis throughout the year via the journal's website (see instructions for authors on working with the website) or by e-mail. Editorial e-mail: psystudy.journal@gmail.com and psystudy@psystudy.ru
The editorial board reads the texts of all letters but does not enter into correspondence on matters unrelated to a specific publication.
Manuscript Submission Guidelines for Authors
The manuscript text submitted to the editorial board must be thoroughly edited, and all data, names, quotations, and bibliographic references must be verified. Compliance with the article formatting requirements is mandatory. For consideration, the full text of the article must be submitted (in Russian or in English), except for special issues of the journal dedicated to pre-registered research.
Authors submitting manuscripts attach two files: File No. 1 – the file containing the article text, named after the surname of the first author, e.g., Ivanov_eng, and containing all metadata in both Russian and English. File No. 2 contains only the article text and the reference list; all information that could identify the authors is removed. It is named текст_статьи_рус or text_of_article_eng depending on the language in which the article is written.
In order to ensure a high scientific level of publications, the editorial board sets a requirement for the depth of literature coverage: the proportion of Russian-language and English-language sources included in the international citation database Scopus / Web of Science must constitute at least half of the total bibliography.
The editorial board always confirms receipt of manuscripts. If no acknowledgement is received within seven days, please write to psystudy.journal@gmail.com
When revising the text in response to comments, file names are marked with numerals: Ivanov_eng2, etc. All author revisions made to the text, of any length, must be highlighted in yellow (shaded).
Author information is included in the files with the article text – see the section Article Text Templates.
Formatting of figures and tables – see section Tables and Figures.

Main Text of the Article
The text should be well structured. Sections are provided with headings. The scientific context – the broader problem to which the research relates – is recommended to be outlined in a brief preamble, before the first heading. The preamble helps the reader understand what topic the article addresses and whether to continue reading. The preamble is not equivalent to the literature review, which follows the brief introductory remarks, is provided with a substantive heading, and concludes with a formulation of the research aim.
Descriptions of empirical studies must be preceded by an analytical literature review. Research aims and hypotheses are formulated explicitly. A Methods section is included: description of the sample, research procedure, research instruments (a bibliographic reference to the source describing the instrument is mandatory), and data analysis methods (mathematical-statistical methods, computer software). The Results section is separated from the Discussion section (interpretation of findings). The main text concludes with a Conclusion section.
Reference List (Article Bibliography), Notes, and Appendices
10. The reference list contains bibliographic data for all sources used in preparing the article. For details, see the section References. Russian-language literature sources are transliterated (e.g., using the free online service http://translit-online.ru). English-language sources are given in their original Latin-script spelling.
11. Notes are placed after the main text of the article, immediately after the reference list. The subheading is "Notes", even if there is only one note.
12. If necessary, large numerical or illustrative materials are placed in Appendices / Supplementary Materials. These follow the main text of the article. If there are several appendices, they are numbered in sequence. References to the appendices are required in the main text of the article.
Information About the Author(s)
13. Information about the author(s) is provided after the reference list (or notes or appendices, if present). See article text templates.
Conflict of Interest Statement
14. Authors are required to declare the presence or absence of a potential conflict of interest (financial, personal, professional, or other relationships that could be perceived as biased). If there is no conflict of interest, the text states: "The author(s) declare(s) no conflict of interest."
Information About Author Contributions
15. For each article, the specific contribution of each co-author must be described. The editorial board recommends using the international CRediT standard. At the end of the article, the surnames and initials of the authors should be indicated with a description of their roles in the research:
