Abstract

Periodization of Russian psychological knowledge is an urgent problem of the history of psychology. First, it should be distinguished the evolution (accumulation) of national psychological knowledge, on the one hand, and the development of Russian psychology as a science (its institutionalization), on the other hand. Second, there are different grounds for constructing periodization of the history of psychology, and any periodization is an interpretation through a certain axiological prism. Third, modern periodization of the history of psychology should account for not only the internal logic of the science development but also social, cultural and historical factors, as well as the evolution of scientific knowledge as a whole. An attempt to construct periodization of Russian psychological knowledge based on the cultural-analytical approach and the notion of a change of rationality type is made in the article.
