Abstract

The most popular theory of emotional intelligence – J.Mayer, P.Salovey, D.Caruso’s hierarchical model of abilities – and its development in the light of the last experimental findings are considered. Different approaches to development of emotional intelligence and comprising it abilities are analyzed. Main approaches include: psychological training based on abilities model (J.Mayer, P.Salovey, D.Caruso), educational software METT (P.Ekman), rational-emotive psychotherapy (A.Beck, A.Ellis), development of dominant scenarios in linguistics (A.A.Kotov), acting practice (K.S.Stanislavsky and others). Based on carried out analysis the hypothesis that acting training is the most effective method of developing emotional intelligence is suggested.
