The problem of teenagers’ socialization in modern multicultural space

Abstract

Features of socialization in teenagers from different ethnic groups who live in the megalopolis are revealed. Influence of teenagers’ social and personal space on development of various socialization patterns and search for identity groups that are the most adequate for them is shown. Three levels of determination of teenage socialization process which are connected with the space of a big city. This space provides extremely wide corridors of positive socialization and development tasks as well as family environment that serves as translator of ethnic values and standards. Favorable effect of the megalopolis which gives opportunity of harmonious interaction of both family traditions and common cultural and sociocultural norms and standards of behavior is demonstrated. It is shown that the megalopolis provides flexibility and variability scenarios of social development in teenagers.
