Results studying of social reality in youth (both boys and girls) with different degree of identity development, different features of their ideas of social fields, mobility of social groups in and out of the field and restrictions of field social mobility are presented in the article. Relationship between balance of personal and social identity, on the one hand, and figurative representation of borders of personal and social spaces, on the other hand, is shown and empirically proved. It is shown that significant social fields (striations) in youthful age are a family, friends and society with different type of the attitudes to each of the designated groups. In this regard, the restriction of personal and social spaces is carried out in dichotomous dimension “I” – “Universe” and is characterized mainly by opposition of “I” and “Universe”. Dynamics of borders of social space (young people inclusion of families, friends or society into their in-group) depends on the degree of balance of their personal and social identity.

Keywords: social space, social fields, social striations, differentiation, integration, personal identity, social identity, in-group, out-group
