The empirical study of parent-child relationship in two-child families is presented. The data of two samples (adolescents and parents) factorization of Markovskaya’s questionnaire “Parent-child interaction” are analyzed. 292 families with two children aged 12–18 were studied (285 elder siblings, 238 younger siblings, 281 fathers, 284 mothers). Different factor structure was obtained for parent and children forms of the questionnaire. Differences in factor meaning content between the two groups were also shown. “Parent positive relation” was found to be the most powerful factor in both groups. This factor covered statements relating to the majority of the questionnaire original scales. Using questionnaire parallel forms (for parents and children) in this study poses a serious problem that is due not to the possibility of questionnaire parallel forms application for parents and children but to the obtained data interpretation.
